Corinthian University of Applied Sciences
The Corinthian University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) is a dynamic and dialogue-oriented university with regional roots and international orientation. It is a charitable private foundation. It has a comprehensive range of bachelor- and master- programs. As part of their education, extensive cooperation with companies take place. The practical experience gained from this is part of the training for their students and released in specialist publications.
The CUAS holds a construction laboratory, which carries out component tests as part of research and development. The planning and execution of fire tests as well as thermodynamic simulations are among their relevant competences. The construction laboratory offers, among other services, the following:
The CUAS, as the lead partner of the FIREEXPERT project, is contributing its skills in the development of the new ''LivingLab''. The High Performance Concrete Innovation Center funded by the FFG COIN Rail demonstrates its expertise in this area. It has extensive knowledge in the organization, implementation and management of EU projects and has experience with approved and implemented Interreg projects. The successful implementation of these projects were achieved through the effective and efficient project management of the CUAS.
The CUAS benefits from the expansion of the catchment area of the users of their laboratory equipment and engineering services and the related exchange of ideas. By intensifying the exchange with the other project partners, their own efforts to support and promote start-ups and SMEs are supported. It is optimized in terms of quality and quantity. The project will improve the awareness of the FHK and its competencies in the program region and will create transnational training opportunities for students. Furthermore, international networks in the subject area can be developed further, such as the networking of the members of the Slovenian associations ZAG, SZPV and ZBS at the meetings and other events organized by these associations. |

ZAG - Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute
The ZAG is a non-profit state institution. Its main activities include standardized testing procedures, development of new measuring methods, certification and attestation of conformity of products, participation in the preparation of technical regulations and standards, as well as basic and applied scientific research.
The institute comprises 14 laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure. It has been ISO 9001 certified since 2007 and is accredited for EN ISO / IEC 17025 and EN 45011 certification. The main research areas of the ZAG are:
In connection with fire research, ZAG participates in:
ZAG envisages cooperation with SZPV and ZBS, which are important associations in the field of fire engineering in Slovenia. This will integrate the ZAG more into the Slovenian economy and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the fields of fire prevention and fire safety. A better control of scientific research activities for the solution of concrete problems of the Slovenian construction industry and increase the value of the ZAG services. Another focus will be on strengthening relations with the Slovenian legislation actors. Cross-border cooperation in the project and integration of Austrian industry will broaden the range of research activities. The cooperation with the FHK, a related institution, will complement the broad spectrum of research equipment and research staff of ZAG. |

SZPV - Slovensko združenje za požarno varstvo
The SZPV is a Slovenian association. It is a non-profit, non-governmental organization consisting of 210 individual members and has cooperation agreements with 37 companies in Slovenia. It was founded in 1993 by private individuals, company representatives and institutions and has been involved since then in the field of fire protection.
The SZPV relies on cooperation with its insurance industry members, product manufacturers for structures in the field of structural in the field of fire protection, the government, the fire department and other parties involved in fire safety. The aim is to focus attention on fire protection issues. The SZPV plays a key role in the preparation of new technical regulations, standards, the drafting of guidelines and recommendations. It is also a member of CFPA Europe and an associate member of CFPA International.
Within the project, the cooperation of the SZPV with the two institutions ZAG and ZBS the field of fire engineering is deepened. Better control of activities and the incorporation of SZPV into the Slovenian economy is achieved, for example, by supplementing the range of products and services on the SZPV website. The active participation of SZPV members in the project aims to strengthen relations with the actors in the field of Slovenian legislation. The cross-border cooperation should also be used for the connection of SZPV with professional associations in Austria. |

ZBS - Združenje za beton Slovenije
Private individuals, representatives of companies, institutes and faculties, founded the Slovenian Concrete Association ZBS in 2003. The ZBS presently counts 26 collective and 37 individual members. Among them are construction companies, concrete and concrete product manufacturers, building material manufacturers, architectural firms, research institutes, faculties, laboratories and similar.
The ZBS connects its members through a lively exchange of expertise, experience and best practice across the concrete's field of expertise. Their mission is training, education and networking. We contribute substantially to the preparation of regulations, technical guidelines, general standards and standards in promoting concrete as a material for sustainable construction.
There is an intensive cooperation of the ZBS with the two Slovenian key institutions of the project, the ZAG and the SPZV. As a result, new links between the ZBS and the Slovenian economy in the construction and construction industries will be established. The members of the ZBS and the construction industry should use the active participation in the process and the subsequent transmission of the collected information. Improved cooperation with the Slovenian legislator will significantly enhance the role of ZBS in the field of sustainable construction. The project will contribute to promoting cross-border cooperation between the ZBS and similar professional organizations in Carinthia. |
